ABOUT
"Music transcends so many obstacles we face on a day to day basis. Creating music is an absolute must if we want to grow as human beings and as a society." -Austin Morgan
Whether it is performing, recording, song writing, composing, or giving lessons, Austin is passionately involved in music of all types. He has worked with many musicians and loves every moment of music created with them.
While growing up in his hometown of Beckley, West Virginia, Austin was heavily involved in music both at school and at church. Starting on drum set and switching to trumpet at age 11, Austin always strived to make sure passion was what people heard when he played. He continued to play trumpet in his high school marching band, concert band, pep band, and jazz ensemble.
When he first began college, Austin started as a music education major. However, after playing with one of the university big bands and taking a private lesson from Jeff Wolfe, he became hooked on jazz music and all that it had to offer. Austin later moved to Tennessee to complete his Bachelor's degree in Music at Lee University.

While in West Virginia, he filled the position of lead trumpet player for the Heavy Hitters. Austin and the band leader Jarren Jackson work on different projects when possible such as album recordings and live shows in the Huntington and Beckley area.

Austin is the leader of the Austin Morgan Quintet, plays split lead for the Lets Dance Band, and records with various artists such as Jacob Coleman, Mari York, Shana Chrisley, and more!
